Carpooling to Campus

According to the EPA, the average car emits about 4.6 million tons of Carbon dioxide. It's estimated that motor vehicles contribute to about 16 percent of the total CO2 emissions in the United States. It is important to implement ways and look for alternatives such as the shift to more environmentally friendly vehicles and promote stronger policies that will help reduce CO2 emissions.

Another effective way of reducing the carbon footprint is carpooling, which is what I decided to implement this semester. Carpooling to campus contributed to a total reduction of 1,701.7 pounds of CO2.
